Fees associated with various searches can be paid by cheque payable to the Town of Aylmer, 46 Talbot Street West, Aylmer, ON N5H 1J7. We do not accept credit card payments.
Standard turnaround time for most requests is 7-10 days.
Catfish Creek Conservation Authority (CCCA) is governed by a Board of Directors which is comprised of five individuals representing the municipalities within the Catfish Creek watershed jurisdiction. This includes the Town of Aylmer.
Contact the CCCA for more information regarding permitted land uses on properties within the Town of Aylmer.
Contact the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) to find out if there are any open electrical notifications on the property. These are outstanding notifications to correct any defects. By law, the buyer assumes responsibility for doing this. As part of your purchase agreement, have your lawyer contact ESA for a search of records.
Fire Code Inspection Request
Aylmer Fire Department can conduct a fire inspection to ensure that a property is in compliance with the Ontario Fire Code in order to provide a safe environment for the occupants of that building.

Property File Search Request
Aylmer Fire Department will provide a file search for any outstanding Ontario Fire Code violations against the property. To request a file search, we will require written authorization from the current owner giving us permission to conduct the search.

Town of Aylmer By-law 78-21, being a By-law to establish Development Charges for the Town, was passed by Council on December 15, 2021, with fee changes applicable for the period beginning on January 1, 2022 and ending on December 31, 2026.
The Development Charges By-law applies to all lands within the Town of Aylmer. Development Charges are payable at the time of building permit issuance, or as otherwise specified within the By-law.
Occupancy permits are issued upon substantial completion of a new building project. A fee may be applicable if a replacement copy is required.

Owners of listed properties must give Council at least 60 days notice of their intention to demolish or remove a building or structure on the property.
Proposed Amendments to the Ontario Heritage Act
The designation applied to properties recorded in the Aylmer Register of Properties of Cultural Heritage Value or Interest is set to expire on January 1, 2027 due to proposed changes to the Ontario Heritage Act. For more information, please click here.
