Committee Vacancy – Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee (County of Elgin)
The County of Elgin is seeking applicants for one vacant position on the Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee. This citizen appointee position is an at large position requiring an Elgin County resident with a disability or a member of the community who is actively involved in a disability related profession, or a caregiver for a person with a disability.
The Committee advises Councils regarding the preparation, implementation and effectiveness of the multi-year accessibility plans of the participating municipalities; accessibility of buildings, structures or premises that the municipalities lease, purchase, construct or significantly renovate; accessibility of site plans and drawings described in Section 41 of the Planning Act that the committee selects; and other accessibility related matters for which the councils may seek its advice.
