Did you know that up to 70 per cent of Canada’s wetlands have disappeared in settled areas of the country? Every day another 80 acres of precious habitat is lost, equivalent to 45 soccer fields.

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) is the leader in wetland conservation. Using sound science, DUC delivers on-the-ground habitat conservation projects, research, education programs and public policy work to conserve, restore and manage wetlands.

As a science-based conservation organization, the DUC has a dedicated team of experienced scientists. The Institute for Wetland and Waterfowl Research (IWWR) is the scientific research arm of DUC. The respected biologists find answers to important environmental questions and establish the value of wetlands to waterfowl and society.

The DUC’s scientific work helps guide various conservation programs.
