Pursuant To Subsection 17(17) And 28 Of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter P.13 (As Amended), Take Notice That a Public Meeting Will Be Held by The Corporation of The Town of Aylmer:

Meeting: The Proposed Town Wide Affordable Housing Community Improvement Plan (CIP)

Date and Time: Monday, September 20, 2021 7:00 pm

Location of Lands Impacted: All lands in the Town of Aylmer

At this virtual Public Meeting– Council will hear public representations in respect to amendments to the Town of Aylmer’s Community Improvement Plan to add grants opportunities related to new affordable housing developments.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, this Public Meeting will be held virtually via the GoToMeeting platform. Members of the public wishing to speak at the meeting either via Teams or via telephone will be required to register by 9:00 a.m. on September 16, 2021.

Purpose and Effect of Proposed Affordable Housing (CIP): The purpose of the proposed amendments to the Community Improvement Plan is to extend the ability for the Town of Aylmer to provide incentives to development or redevelopment that creates more affordable housing opportunities. Currently incentives only are possible in the Downtown (CIP) area.

Additional Information:

Those that do not provide comment or written submission prior to the passage of a By-Law amending the Community Improvement Plan may not been afforded the right to appeal to the Local Planning Appeals Tribunal.

If Council adopts the amendment to the CIP, it will then be sent to Elgin County for a request to match the proposed tax reductions and the Province of Ontario for review and approval. The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing is the approval authority.
