Flag Raising and Proclamations
Flag raising and proclamations are an excellent way of providing important information to the public about initiatives, many of which may be local, provincial-wide, Canada-wide, or international. Proclamations are issued at the discretion of the Mayor, supported by Council. All proclamation requests are reviewed on an individual basis.
How to Submit a Proclamation Request
Proclamation requests may be submitted on the form linked below by in person, by mail ,or email to the Town Council via the Town Clerk. The request will be placed on a Council Agenda to be considered by Council, and if approved, the proclamation will be posted on the Town’s website and on the Town’s bulletin board located at Town Hall.

Proclamation and Flag Raising Approvals
Proclamations are reviewed and approved according to a criteria and procedure outlined in the Town of Aylmer Municipal Flag Raising Policy. Individuals, groups or associations requesting flag raisings are required to provide the flag to be raised. Flags shall not be less than 91cm in height and 182cm in length. Where flags of the prescribed size are not available, smaller or larger flags may be flown. Flags will only be flown if compatible with the standard rope raising devices at the Town’s municipal facilities.
