Official Plan Review Public Open House (Online)

The Official Plan is a statement of goals, objectives and policies intended to guide future land use and growth within the Town to build sustainable communities and protect natural and agricultural resources. The policies of the Plan are designed to promote the public interest in the future development of the Town, reduce uncertainty relating to future development, and to provide a basis for the Zoning By-law and other land use controls.

Ontario’s Planning Act requires municipalities to conduct an Official Plan Review every five years. The Town’s current Official Plan was approved on March 23, 2000 and updated in 2006. The Official Plan review ensures that the Official Plan is consistent with the latest Provincial policies, the Elgin County Official Plan (2013), and supports new community objectives and priorities in managing growth and change.
