2025 Sidewalk Construction Program – John St South
The Town of Aylmer will soon begin construction on a new sidewalk on the east side of John St South, between Alexander Drive and 249 John St South. Work is expected to begin on Monday, April 14, 2025, with an anticipated end date of Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Read on for further details.

Location: John St South – Alexander Drive to 249 John St South
Tentative Start Date: April 14, 2025
Anticipated Completion Date: April 30, 2025
Scope: Installation of a new concrete sidewalk on the east side of John Street South.
Contractor: Autoform Contracting London Limited
Impacts During Construction
Traffic: Traffic will be reduced at times. There will be select periods of time where driveway access may be restricted or denied for a few days during concrete curing. Notice will be provided by the contractor. If driveway access is restricted, please park your vehicle on the street or the nearest side street.
Vibration: Construction equipment can cause vibrations. Please ensure you protect any valuables susceptible to damage.
Private Sprinkler Systems, Landscaping, or Fencing: The Town would ask that all items on Town property be removed in advance of construction. The Town is not responsible for damage to items located on Town property.
Sod: The contractor will water new sod following placement. It would be helpful if property owners would also water the sod during this time. After the 60-day sod warranty period, watering will become the property owner’s responsibility as it was prior to construction.
Safety: Stay safe and avoid the work area during construction. Maintain a safe distance from construction vehicles entering and leaving the site.
