The Building and Planning Departments of the Town of Aylmer have collaborated to prepare a report for Council that provides a development activity update for 2024. The report was presented at the August 14, 2024 Regular Meeting of Council.
Summary of Building Department Activity
- 28 permits issued (Jan 1 2024- July 1 2024)
- 4 single-family dwellings – Cottonwood
- Willow Run subdivision has been serviced and is nearly ready for the issuance of building permits
- Most permits issued for residential additions and alteration permits for decks, sheds, home renovations
Summary of Planning and Development Department Activity
- Cottonwood Subdivision
– Phase 2 construction of residential lots
– Site entrance and SWM pond have been naturalized
– Phase 3 – engineering design and review phase for the extension of Cottonwood Boulevard and Aspen Parkway - Willow Run Subdivision and Condominium
– Fully serviced including watermain, SWM pond, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, sanitary pump station, utilities, and rough road construction
– 1km of new multi-use pathways from Rotary Park to the new SWM facility
– 55 single detached residential lots
– 8 semi-detached lots
– 13 townhouse residential lots
– 44-unit vacant land condominium community
– 9.87ha of dedicated parkland - AIM Park – Industrial Development/Employment Lands
– 14 lot/blocks of varying sizes full serviced for industrial development

Summary of Engineering Activities
- Updates to the new Town of Aylmer Design Guidelines Manual

- Create and updates to the Town of Aylmer Consolidated Linear Infrastructure and Environmental Compliance Approval program
- Issuance and receipt of Road Occupancy Permits
- Issuance and receipt of Site Alteration Permits
- Respond to various public development concerns
