Fall Leaf Collection – Extended 2 Weeks – Now Ending December 3

Fall Leaf Collection has been extended from November 19 to December 3. The program began October 25 and collection is weather dependent.

There is no defined route, however several trips will be made throughout the Town during the specified dates.

The Town will be picking up both bagged and curbside leaves. The Town’s preference is for residents to use bio-degradable paper bags. No bag tag is required, and plastic bags will not be accepted. When leaves are raked to the curbside, they can plug the catch basins and cause ponding on the roadway during inclement weather.

How to Prepare Your Leaves

  • Residents can use bio-degradable paper bags to ensure a neat and orderly pickup
  • Rake leaves onto the curbside of the street, not onto the curb
  • Do not cover storm grates or clog roadside ditches
  • Leaves only – Do not include brush, plants, weeds or loose dirt in the piles

As a reminder, leaves, brush and yard waste can be taken to the Community Recycling Centre at 330 South Edgeware Road, St. Thomas, ON.
