Press Release

On October 21, 2026, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO) dismissed the application brought by a Member of Council against the Corporation of the Town of Aylmer and Chief Administrative Officer Andy Grozelle, without requiring a hearing.

In its decision, the Tribunal found “it plain and obvious that the Application lies outside of the Tribunal’s jurisdiction.” The Tribunal therefore dismissed the application.

The application concerned matters relating to Integrity Commissioner findings and decisions made by Council, as noted in the Town’s October 7, 2026, release entitled “Litigation Against the Town”. With the application dismissed, Council’s previous decisions on these matters remain valid and in effect. No further reviews of these decisions are underway, and the ordinary time limits for pursuing a direct legal challenge have expired.
