Large Item (Bulk) Curbside Collection – October 4 to 7, 2022 (Tuesday to Friday)

Please be advised that Miller Waste, on behalf of the Town of Aylmer will be conducting a Large Item, Non-Hazardous Curbside Collection during the above noted week.

Please place your large items at the curbside before 7:00 am on the same day as your regular garbage pick up during the above noted week ONLY. Items must not be placed to the curb prior to the specified date. NOTE: Items placed out following the date and time indicated will not be picked up.

Large Item Means:

Items that are too large to fit into a garbage bag or can and that are no more than two cubic feet in volume or seventy-five (75) pounds.

Suitable Items: (but not limited to)

Furniture: kitchen table, chair, coffee table, arm chair, couch, mattress, desk, crib, infant car seat, barbeque.

Sports & Recreation: golf club/bag, toboggan, skateboard, exercise equipment, hockey stick.

Outdoor Living: patio furniture, umbrella, hammock, bird bath, deck box, planters, plastic cooler, gardening tool.

Large Appliances: Any large item that does not exceed the volume and weight restriction indicated above. Washing machine, clothes dryer, refrigerator, freezer, water cooler, humidifier, de-humidifier etc. * Any items that contain FREON MUST HAVE A CERTIFICATION TAG ATTACHED BY A LICENSED APPLIANCE DEALER NOTING THAT THE FREON HAS BEEN REMOVED or the items WILL NOT BE PICKED UP.

Carpets must be rolled in lengths no longer than four and a half (4.5 feet) and be tied or taped for easy removal.

The following WILL NOT BE PICKED UP (but not limited to)

• Regular household garbage

• Renovating and construction material such as drywall, drywall compound, plaster, shingles, insulation and concrete

• Hazardous waste such as paint, tires, driveway sealer, tar, solvents, propane tanks

• E-waste such as computers, hard drives, printers, televisions, microwaves, telephones, etc.

*The Town of Aylmer has a contract with the City of St. Thomas for the Community Recycling Centre, located at 330 South Edgeware Road for disposal of Hazardous and E-waste materials.

Homeowners with large quantities exceeding the volume and weight indicated above should make their own arrangements for a bin service. The intent of this program is not to collect property content when vacating the premises.

If you are placing any containers(s) to the curbside that you do not wish to have picked up in this collection please clearly place your address on the container(s) in large print.

Business and apartments above businesses in the downtown core are scheduled for pick up on Tuesday, October 12, 2021

The Town reserves the right to limit quantities.
