Message from the Mayor – June 30, 2021
As we transition into the summer months, Council and I would like to congratulate all graduating students in Aylmer and surrounding area. While graduation this year will be different than from past years, I truly admire the adaptability and perseverance that has been demonstrated by all students throughout this difficult and unprecedented time. The skills you have learned throughout this period will surely help you in your future endeavours. Council and I wish you all a safe and enjoyable summertime.
As Ontario moves to Step (2) of reopening ahead of schedule, Council and staff continue to monitor provincial communications to ensure that Town programs and services are well positioned to meet the needs of the community within the parameters set by the province and Southwestern Public Health. For frequent updates on the status of Town programs and services such as the splashpad, pool and park areas in Town, I encourage you to follow the Town of Aylmer on Facebook or Instagram.
Town Hall remains open to the public by appointment; however, for the safety of residents and staff we are encouraging those that can to use alternative means of communication such as email or telephone. A comprehensive staff directory is available at www.aylmer.ca. Residents can also call Town Hall at (519) 773-3164 to be directed to the appropriate staff member.
Please be reminded that Town Hall will be closed on Friday July 2, 2021 to observe the Canada Day Statutory Holiday. As a result of COVID-19 restrictions in effect, all Canada Day events have been cancelled for 2021.
If you have any other COVID-19-related questions or concerns, please contact Southwestern Public Health by phone at (519) 631-9900 (Toll Free: 1-800-922-0096) or by email at [email protected]. Further health information and instructions can be found at their website at www.swpublichealth.ca.
Please continue to support local businesses, look out for your neighbours, and stay safe.
