Notice of Study Completion – Development of Industrial Park Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study
The Study
The Town of Aylmer has completed a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Class EA) for the development of the subject lands and servicing with roads, sewers, water, or other required infrastructure.
The result of the consultation with review agencies and members of the public has not changed the recommendation of this report. The recommended solution is still to service the AIM Park with public roads, sanitary sewers and water systems and to provide a municipal stormwater management facility. This recommendation has been submitted to the Town of Aylmer. If the Town Council accepts the recommendation, it will become the “Preferred Solution”.
The Process
This study followed Schedule “B” of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Municipal Engineers Association, October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011, & 2015), which is an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. A key component of the study will be consultation with interested stakeholders (public and agencies) as well as indigenous communities.
Project File Report
A Project File Report (PFR) has been prepared to document the planning and decision-making process of the study. By this notice, the PFR will be placed on the public record for a 30-day review period starting January 25, 2023, and ending February 28, 2023 in accordance with the requirements of the MCEA process. If there are outstanding concerns regarding potential adverse impacts to constitutionally protected Aboriginal and treaty rights, a request for an order requiring a higher level of study or conditions on those matters should be addressed in writing to the Minister of the Environment and the Director of the Environmental Assessment Branch.
