Council seeking Public Members for Appointment to Old Town Hall Advisory Committee
The Council of the Town of Aylmer is seeking nominations for public member positions appointed by Town Council on the Old Town Hall Advisory Committee. The application for this position can be found below. Council will review the applications and make an appointment in September 2024.
Council is looking for individuals who are passionate about community engagement and promoting the arts in Aylmer. Committee members will:
- Advise and make recommendations on the programming and utilization of Old Town Hall;
- Initiate and assist in identifying and implementing community-wide and area-wide needs and partnership opportunities for new program development and service delivery including recommendations for broad recreational needs, trends, strategies and plans;
- Raise the profile of Old Town Hall through positive support and promotion in the community; and may,
- Consider library services in the context of Old Town Hall, however such considerations shall exclude future capital projects to support this County service.
Council will attempt to appoint a representative, with consultation from local user group organizations, from each of the following arts disciplines:
- Music
- Literary
- Theater
The committee meets quarterly and may be requested to meet outside of regularly scheduled times. The regularly scheduled meetings are the last Tuesday of the month, at 8:00 a.m. with exceptions for December.
The deadline for applications for public member positions appointed by Town Council is August 14, 2024.
