Town of Aylmer Launches Fundraising Campaign to Expand and Preserve Old Town Hall & Aylmer Library

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

December 10, 2025

Aylmer, ON — The Town of Aylmer is pleased to announce the official launch of the Old Town Hall / Library Fundraising Campaign, an initiative to support the expansion and modernization of the Aylmer Library while preserving the heritage character of the Old Town Hall.

About the Project
Under the campaign, the Town is moving forward with the Library Expansion Project based on “Design Option 1,” drafted by and recently endorsed by Council. The design calls for a two-storey addition on the west side of the Old Town Hall, plus a single-storey extension into the adjacent park space — improving the flow between the existing library, the theatre, and public areas while safeguarding the historic character of the site.

The expanded facility will provide significantly increased space for library collections, community programming, flexible meeting areas, and operational needs — ensuring that Aylmer’s downtown remains a hub for culture, learning, and connection.
