January 21, 2026

The Province of Ontario, through the MHIP-HSWS program, has awarded the Town of Aylmer $7,208,750 in funding to support phase 2 of its sanitary lagoon optimization project.

The project, which involves the installation of headworks and a fixed bed biological media system, will improve system performance and longevity, as well as effluent quality.

“This long-term investment protects local waterways, reduces breakdowns and costs, and ensures our system can support new homes and jobs”, said Town of Aylmer Mayor Jack Couckuyt. “Looking after core infrastructure keeps services reliable and affordable for residents. Thank you to the province for partnering with us to reinforce the strong foundation of Aylmer’s bright future.”
